Maggie: Tim are you ready for dinner?

매기: 팀 지금 저녁 먹어도 돼?

Tim: Just a sec.

팀: 잠깐만.

Maggie: Dinner is almost ready.

매기: 저녁 거의 다 차렸어.

Tim: I'll finish up in just a second.

팀: 금방 끝낼 거야.

Maggie: When does your boss want this report?

매기: 보고서를 언제까지 내야 되는데?

Tim: Next Monday.

팀: 다음주 월요일이야.

Maggie: Will you have it ready by then.

매기: 그 때까지는 끝낼 거지.

Tim: Oh yes.

팀: 아 물론이지.

Maggie: Good. Now let's have dinner before it gets cold.

매기:좋아.그럼 지금은 음식 식기전에 저녁먹자.

Tim: I'm ready to chow down.

기억할만한 표현

*just a sec: 금새, 곧바로(sec은 second의 줄임 말).

“I’ll help you in just a sec. I want to finish my breakfast.” (금방 도와줄게. 아침 먹던 거 마저 끝내고.)

*by then: 그 때까지는.

“I can’t take you to the airport at 9:30 because I have to be at work by then.” (9시 30분까지 널 공항에 못 데려다 주겠어. 그 때까지 회사에 가야 돼서 말이야.)

*chow down: (속어) 음식을 먹다.

“We chowed down a pizza last night.” (우린 지난 밤에 피자 먹었어.)
