Dave: Hey Paul where are you going?

데이브: 이봐 폴. 어디 가는 거야?

Paul: I‘m going to check out the new BMWs.

폴: 새로 나온 BMW 좀 보고 오려고.

Dave: Did you win the lottery?

데이브: 복권이라도 당첨됐어?

Paul: Almost. I’m going to get promoted.

폴: 거의 그래. 승진될 거니까.

Dave: What do you mean “going to get promoted”? Do you mean you might get promoted?

데이브: 승진될 거라니 그게 무슨 말이야? 승진될 지도 모른다는 말이야?

Paul: The boss said someone is and I‘m in line to get the promotion.

폴: 상사가 그러는데 누군가 승진된대. 내가 승진 0순위거든.

Dave: Don’t count your chickens before they‘re hatched.

데이브: 김칫국부터 마시는 거 아니야.

Paul: Everybody in the office is sure it will be me.

폴: 사무실 사람들 전부 내가 승진할 거라고 생각해.

Dave: Why don’t you wait until you actually get promoted.

데이브: 진짜로 승진할 때까지 기다리는 게 어때.

Paul: You sure know how to bring me down.

폴: 내 기분을 제대로 망쳐놓는군.
